Dear Friends & Family,
October has arrived and it's getting colder...brrrr! Can you believe that we looked out our window on Sept. 20th and saw huge snow flakes floating down from the sky? We are definitely in Canada; however, the past several weeks have been filled with beautiful weather. On Monday, Oct. 11th, we celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with the Cross'. We had such a great time, and we have much to be thankful for.
Teaching a Local
In the two weeks prior to our departure for Wisconsin in August, Jim and I had the opportunity to teach "The Stranger" with a young woman who is attends the local church here in Olds. The study came about after she expressed a frustration stemming from what she described as her “scattered understanding of the Bible”. She felt like she had only been taught systematically over the years and could not seem to connect all the stories of the Bible together in a way that made sense. On the sixth night we met with her, Jim and I witnessed a bit of her frustration at the end of the evening; we were nearing the end of the study. She asked questions such as, “How is it that I have never been taught some of this before?” and “Did you know that I am not only beginning my third year of Bible College, but I have also attended Christian schools my whole life?” She left our home deep in thought. However, upon completing the seventh and final night of the study, her excitement and delight were evident as she reveled in her new understanding of the Word.
