Moment with Missions - July 2007

Friends & Family,

A ministry such as ours (GoodSeed) is a team effort. It takes faithful partners to keep us doing what we do. As team members, we thought you might be encouraged by some of the stories we hear. Here are two emails that originated out of the GoodSeed seminar I taught at during May, conducted for a mission board based in Pennsylvania. After the seminar, one of the missionary couples wrote:

Joe* and I got back home from the conference in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and have been busily collecting our own set of props to use for the Stranger on the Road to Emmaus book. We have been following Paul's advice to pray for one person to start off with . . . and we have found her! Joe's mother (unbeliever) is quite excited about the opportunity to study the Bible together, so we will begin the Stranger book with her next Monday afternoon.

The same couple wrote again:

We just finished our fourth session with Joe’s mom about an hour ago. She is thoroughly enjoying this study. She says things like, "This makes everything so easy to understand" and "oh, that really paints a picture in my mind." She can't wait to see what the next visual aid will be as we pull them out of our box. We finished chapter 8 in the Stranger on the Road to Emmaus book this afternoon, on the 10 commandments. As we reviewed all the various approaches that man has come up with to try to get right with God, she asked, "What is the solution?" I told her we were coming to that. So it is exciting to work with her. I am so grateful for all the work your team has put into developing these materials and teaching us how to use them.

We just want to remind you that, the “thanks to the team” extends to all of you that have partnered with us. As of early June, Leslie and I have now been with GoodSeed for 3 full years. Your encouragement, your prayers, and your gifts have kept us doing what we do. It has been a privilege to serve in this way.

We appreciate you all,
Jim, Leslie & Addison
