Last weekend we headed to Dillon, CO for a short getaway. My brother Ryan and some of his co-workers have a condo they've rented for the winter months; I can't even count how many times he's been snowboarding this year. And lucky us, this time he invited us to join him!
So along with our brothers and some friends, JD got to hit the slopes at Breck on Monday. Then Tuesday they headed over to Keystone. That afternoon I got the kids all bundled up so we could meet up with the guys. I had A&A decked out in their winter gear from last season. Somehow we never got around to getting them new stuff this year; maybe due to the {wonderfully} mild winter we've had? So poor Addie was sporting a size 2 bib, but at least she was warm!
While Joe & I hung out at the base of the mountain, JD & Ryan took A&A on an adventure. They rode the gondola up to an awesome snow fort equipped with slides, tunnels, and even an ice chair. Pretty sweet. Later they got to watch the guys take their final run down the mountain. They had a blast!
Much like when we live in Canada, we're only an hour and a half from several mountain resorts. We're hoping for some fun summer trips as well in the coming months. The Rockies are awesome! JD is looking forward to teaching the kids to ski before too long. Every morning AJ would ask me, "Am I big enough to snowboard yet?" I have a feeling he's going to love it! We shall see.
