Last month our little boy turned three. Say what? Honestly if it weren't for baby girl on the way, JD & I might have had a much more emotional day. How can AJ already be three? He certainly acts his age though. The boy has quite the vocabulary and much like Addie, he's extremely expressive. Speaking in sentences (or paragraphs for that matter), he's very inquisitive and even spouts off some pretty funny jokes. His imagination is amazing (hence the pirate's patch he donned just in time to blow out his candles)! And he's really starting to put together Biblical truths; it's extremely exciting for us to watch. I LOVE this age!
For his birthday we had a family party that included a few friends from church. JD's parents flew in from Texas and both Uncle Joe Joe and Uncle Ryan joined us. Sadly my parents had to leave town the morning of his birthday to attend a funeral in Texas. They were able to spend some time with us the evening before, so that was nice. And having not been back in the kitchen for very long (due to preggo sickness) I asked my Dad to make AJ's b-day cake. Ayden requested chocolate, and PaPa did not disappoint. He made a double layer chocolate cake with a toffee crunch filling, and then he topped the whole thing off with delicious chocolate curls. Ayden was quite proud of it!
As always, JD did a great job of capturing some of the day's fun. Check out the photo story below...
