I started teaching Addison basic phonics shortly before she turned four in October. It's been a fun journey. Now she's reading sentences like...
The crab crept in the crack of the rock
and
Glen spots a glint of glass on the sand.
Way to go Addie!
This morning she practiced spelling using magnetic letters and a cookie sheet from the kitchen. I had to improvise. I'm on the lookout for a magnetic board that I an easily store in the playroom. Any suggestions?
One of A&A's favorite things to do is to play Bingo.
But we're not talking just ordinary Bingo.
They use Smarties (a European version of M&Ms that the kids got hooked on in Canada) to mark their squares. Of course they get to eat all the chocolate candies in the end so it's no wonder they want to play all the time!
Thanks to the Karys we have an ongoing supply of Smarties from Canada. Woot!
