Breaking out the dutch oven

Since we were planning to attend a New Years Day party on Monday, Jim, Addie & I decided to lay low on New Years Eve and just hang out at the casa. The evening turned out to be lots of fun. After munching on some toasted egg sandwiches and asiago-pepper fricos (cheese wafers we cooked up), the real excitement began. We made sopapitas which are a mini version of the mexican sopapilla breads covered in cinnamon sugar and dipped in honey. They brought back memories of eating at Leal's in Muleshoe, Texas growing up. Me gusta sopapitas!
