It's official ~ I've been bitten by the Valentine's bug! This holiday provides me with a great excuse to indulge in crafting and baking with A&A.
But more importantly, it's an excellent time of year to dedicate some time to love. And by that I mean LOVE as defined in Scripture.
Last night at the supper table JD and I spent some time talking with the kids about the fact that GOD IS LOVE {1 John 4:8} and how God's perfect love differs vastly from the world's kind of love. The world's love is about getting and using. God's love is centered around giving and serving. It's night and day really.
And of course His ultimate gift is outlined in John 3:16 ~ "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
After discussing what God did for us through Christ's sacrificial love, we then went over 1 Corinthians 13 ~ Love is...

Already today Addie has mentioned how love is patient, kind, and forgiving. It was so sweet.
Over the course of the next week, we are hoping to do more fun projects in the kitchen as well as finish up the packages we are mailing to a few friends. As you can see from the snapshots below, we've already started getting Valentine-y around here.
