With my camouflage and photo equipment in hand we recently flew down to Rosewell New Mexico to take pictures for our good friends Scott & Erin. Why the camouflage? Well it wasn't only to stay under the alien's radar but more importantly its a crucial element to those aspiring to wedding photojournalism. You see I was hired to capture the events of this weeding with as many shots being those beautiful natural candids. In order to remain discreet, Scott felt it best to dress myself in full body camouflage and hide among the bushes...he said this would be the best way! Ok ok...just a little joke but there were times that I did feel a little militaryesque as I peeked over bushes and around branches. However the sacrifice was completely worth it! This being my first wedding I can't begin to tell you how much I learned and how much respect I have for other photographers who do this kind of work full time. 100% decision making all day long....but I enjoyed the opportunity and walked away with a handful of great shots.
As for the wedding, these two are deeply in love with each other and with their Lord. Their hearts of service to one another and to their guests was such a prominent experience in the time that we spent together. Their love will be felt by all those who have the privilege of befriending them. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. McGhee!
If you would like to view all the pics from this event and others you can check them out at my new byjdm proofing site.
P.S. Scott...next time we do portraits for your family I should have my new laser guided zoom lens....yipee!
