...to do all the nothing you want" - Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes.
Okay, so we’ve been MIA on our blog for almost a month. We’ve been so busy, but its been a great July! Here is a quick recap on all that’s been going on in our personal lives.
Early in July our friends Keith and Becca came up for a visit and then headed west to the mountains of Banff National Park. We had so much fun with these two! Becca, Jim and I used to run around together during our university years, but this was a great chance to spend time with them as a couple. Here are some of our favorites photos that Jim took of them (more on our flickr site)

About mid July Jim headed down to our US office in Coeur d’Alene Idaho for a work week while Addie and I flew down to Texas for Cari’s wedding. Addison was an excellent traveler but the logistics of the trip were challenging at times. While changing terminals at the Houston airport, I ended up carrying Addie, a diaper bag, a car seat, a stroller and yet still managed to catch a bus. I felt like superwoman! Anyways, the wedding was awesome. Cari was a beautiful bride, and I just adored her husband Jeremy. What a perfect couple they make. I had a blast spending time with several girls I had not seen in ages. My in-laws took excellent care of Addie while I was doing wedding stuff all week. Thanks guys!
Upon our return to Canada, my dad rode his motorcycle up for a visit. He and Jim spent the last week building a deck. We have a bi-level home so prior to having the deck, our back door opened to a 6 foot drop. Now we have an awesome place to spend time outside and a covered storage area below. Jim plans to post some pics and a write-up about this soon.
And now for the baby news. Addison is 10 months old and crawling all over the place. She really enjoys being mobile. She babbles all the time, copies some of our words when she is in the mood, and loves to be outside. Recently we found out that Addie is fearless when it comes to being tossed in the air or confronted with loud noises from power tools or the vacuum, but there is one thing that brings her to tears every time! You know the little spring doorstop? Well, when she sees it she just has to vibrate it and without fail the sound scares the cry right out of her. What personality she has!
