Time Has Told
comment icon1 Comment

This past weekend was my 10 year high school reunion. This is the only month from May thru October that Jim and/or I don’t have any travel plans so I decided not to make the trip to attend. Plus, I hope to see many of my friends at Cari’s wedding in July.

As I was wondering today where everyone is, what they are doing, and how they look 10 years later, I then starting thinking about myself. Am I where I expected to be? In short no, I never expected to be living in Canada! But with the bigger picture in mind, I must say I am more than pleased with the course my life has taken.

I planned to get a University degree and then go on to get a professional degree of some sort. I was in fact an honor graduate from Texas Tech University, but I had no desire to continue on.

I thought I would get married somewhere around 25... I actually got married at age 21 and will be celebrating my 7th anniversary this December. I married the perfect man for me and just adore him.

I wanted to be married for 5 years before I had kids - you know, to just have time with my husband. Jim and I were married for 5 years before we had Addison. Now I am a full time mom, and I love every day of it! Just for the record, we started out with plants, then got a dog, and since those endeavors went well (i.e. they all stayed alive) we decided we were ready for kiddos smile

So, here I am in my upper 20s. I still feel young. I finally look old enough to be in my 20s instead of forever fifteen or something. And I know exactly what is important in life. I define myself by who I am in Christ, and I am blessed with a fantastic family and wonderful friends. For this first decade after high school, I can say I definitely like what time has told me. What will I say 10 years from now? I guess time will tell...

Connie & David says:

While Jim was still very young Connie and I began praying for him, and for the young woman only God knew was to be his perfect match.  Our prayers were answered when God brought Leslie Leigh Powell into Jim's life, and ours.  We are deeply grateful for the wonderful gift of our beautiful "Daughter-In-Love!"  We love you Les!!
