7 CommentsA diet full of southern food to be more specific! Okay, so diet is not the right word. It's more like a food indulgence marathon. We are back in the US of A and are currently down in Lubbock, Texas. Throughout the year JD and I often reminisce about the foods we miss the most that are not available up in Canada. So far we've had some awesome food at David & Connie's. On the menu today is a plateful of brisket, a yummy loaded baked potato salad, some beans, and of course, Blue Bell ice cream! In addition to all of Connie's gourmet home cooked meals, we've had some fancy smoked ribs (courtesy of chef David), some excellent Lujan's Tex-Mex, and strawberry lime slushes from Sonic. Other must haves include a shaved ice from Bahama Bucks, probably more Sonic favs, and hopefully more Lujan's. We are here for the week so we will surely fit in lots of the foods we've been drooling for over the past year.
We survived the long travel day with the two munchkins as well as two days of fever with Addie. Now we are looking forward to long awaited visits with friends, family and supporters over this next week. This was kind of a last minute trip so I haven't done well to let many people know we are in town. If you'd like to swing by and see us just let us know.
