oday we started the day off right ~ with donuts! After returning from his milk & breakfast mission with JD, Ayden came in the house hollering, "Guys! I got you donuts! Come downstairs!" His verbal skills seem to be exploding lately. I love this age! The fact that children are able to learn language despite having no pre-existing knowledge of language to build upon is amazing! The entire process is wildly complex and mind-boggling, yet by the grace of God little munchkins everywhere master it in such a short period of time. Wow!

very once in a while Addie & I make it a point to tackle a girlie craft. Inspired by my neighbor, Jessica, who has made her daughter dozens of super cute hair accessories, we tried our hand at creating hair clips using colorful felt and a few heart buttons we rummaged up. Can I just say that cutting felt requires some patience? Or perhaps my kitchen shears weren't the best tool? Oh well, they got the job done, and who doesn't need to practice patience? Actually, it was an extremely fun project {glue guns are cool!} & Addie loves the way they turned out. We'll make more soon.

y little girl is turning 4 next week! I can hardly believe it. Wasn't it just yesterday that we returned to the States and celebrated her 3rd b-day at my parents' house? And for that matter, what happened to 2? Ahhhhh! Clearly I'm in a bit of shock, but don't worry it's not total denial. I have at least started planning her birthday party. I always use some sort of festive bunting for the kids' birthdays. For Addie's 4th I'm going with this one that I came across last spring. The patterns printed out beautifully!
