At lunch one day Addie was chowing down on some Cheetos. While laughing, Jim told her that there was orange ALL over her face. She took a second to think about it, smiled, then told Jim, "Dad there's orange on your face too!" Jim's face was perfectly clean; she was referring to his orange goatee! We just cracked up. I think this was her first real joke.
After she bit her tongue, I tried get her mind off it by asking if her tongue still worked. I stuck my tongue out and asked, "Can you do this?" With a pouting expression she exclaimed, "Mom, I'm still crying!" Apparently she wasn't ready to move on just yet.
The past few months have been full of Addie telling us how she is feeling. "I'm so excited Mom!" "I'm sad." "I got mad Dad." I'm tired." And my favorite, "I'm grouchy!" That's what she told me at the grocery store the other day after I asked her to quit fussing.
I've never been fond of dealing with laundered socks, but now I have my own little helper. I make a pile of all socks and Addie tackles them for me. "Look mom! I found the match!" Once she has them all matched up I fold them. Nice.
Big Question of the Month: "Who bought that, Mama?" From her food to her clothes to her toys, she wants to know who bought everything. More often than not she remembers my answers and reminds me later who got her what.
I was talking to Jim one day but soon realized he had left the room without me knowing. I said, "Where did that man go?" to which Addie replied, "Dad's not a Mango!"
Some of the Spanish we learned growing up comes out every once in a while so it's common these days to hear Addie saying words like Adios, Hola & Loco. It's so funny.
And now I leave you with a few videos from early December. The second one is a bit longer (5 min) but worth the watch. The last minute is my favorite.
