What's Addison been up to this past month? Here's a few things that come to mind.
- This one made my day: "I'm not crazy mom...I'm funny! See, I'm laughing."
- She's using terms of endearment like Sweetie, Babe & Love. She told our teen aged friend Mitch, "Come on Sweetie!" in the middle of a shoe store the other day as she held his hand and led him down the aisle. I'm guessing he turned a few shades of red. Addie is lots of things but quiet is generally not one of them.
- Addison thew up for the first time. Afterward she exclaimed, "I got mad mom! I got mad!" We told her that her tummy was just sad not necessarily mad. Though after I got sick with the same bug, I wondered if mad wasn't a better description after all.
- I don't know the reasoning behind this one, but Addie loves to get someone's attention and then with a very serious face and tone tell them, "Six, Seven! Okay? Six, Seven!" Then she nods at them with her eyebrows raised as if to ask, "Do you understand?" We get a lot of questioning looks; we just shrug our shoulders.
- Ayden was fussing while I was finishing up some baking. Addie says, "Ayden's freaking out mom! Ayden's freaking out!" So we moved him to a floor mat to play. Then he starts babbling loudly again. Addie gently patted his tummy while saying, "Chill out dude. Chill out." It was super cute.
- I had to put on the brakes suddenly the other day. Addie pipes up and tells me, "Settle down mom!" Oh great, my own little backseat driver.
- I gave Addie some bad news. She thoughtfully said, "Okay. No worries."
- Our conversation a few mornings ago:
- A: I'm going to the store mom. I need socks and my shoes...it's chilly.
- Me: Great. What are you going to get at the store?
- A: I'm going to buy fishies actually (goldfish crackers). And some berries and juice. And milk.
- (While telling me about her grocery list she is getting her purse and a grocery bag to take along.)
- Me: Okay. That sounds good.
- A: Where's my coat?
- Me: I don't think you need a coat. You'll be fine.
- A: I need a coat mom. And I need my keys.
- Me: Really?
- A: Help me find them mom! Where'd they go? I need keys!
