{ THIS KID IS FUNNY }
Ayden comes up with some great lines that I know I'll enjoy reading again one day. He speaks in complete sentences pretty much all the time. Even when a simple "No" would suffice, he'll say, "No, I did not." I find it amusing. Like his big sister, he's very vibrant with his words and facial expressions. And his imagination rocks!
{ MEMORABLE CONVERSATIONS }
- While splashing in the bath and pretending to be a mermaid, Addie asked, "Mom, why didn't God make mermaids real?" To which Ayden readily voiced his opinion by hollering, "Cause sharks would eat 'em up!" I love having a boy AND a girl!
- Ayden was watching me iron the other day. It occurred to me that he probably had no clue why I would be doing that. What 2 yr old thinks about wrinkles? So I asked him, "Do you know why Mommy is ironing?" He nodded his head and confidently said, "Yes I do. Cause God told you to." Nice.
- The other day Ayden was trying to tell Addie to do something that I had just instructed her not to do. I said, "Ayden, I've already told Addie to stop, and I'm the mother." Not skipping a beat, he replied, "And I'm the brudda (brother)." That should count for something right? Ha!
- I was going over Deut 6:5 with him ~ Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. After heart, soul, and might, he added " and all your cand." I said, "Cand? I don't know what that means." He made a bewildered face and said, "Me either." Hmmm. Okay.
{ SOME OF HIS FAVORITE LINES }
- When we talk about him being in my tummy while I was pregnant or him being a baby or even just something fun we did, he always says, "I wanna do that again sometimes."
- For anything he's anticipating he'll say, "I can't wait!!" over and over. And over.
- If you ask him what he said, instead of repeating it he says, "I just told you." Then he looks at you like you're crazy.
- When he's playing with Addie, he'll say things like, "I'm coming sweetie."
- He's always asking Uncle Joe, "Hey! How'd you get here? Where'd you come from?"
- And his oft used line, "I don't like that!"
{ SOME OF HIS FAVORITE WORDS }
- Actually
- Delicious
- Last night. Yesterday. (He works hard to try to properly reference time and days.)
- Don't know. (It's the way he says this one that's so funny.)
- Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
{ THINGS WE LOVE TO HEAR }
- Last fall he memorized the fruits of the Spirit. I was teaching them to Addie, and before I knew it he could list them off! After that I realized he was ready to start learning Bible verses.
- Just like his sister, Ayden loves Mary Poppins! He sings "A Spoonful of Sugar" and "Let's Go Fly a Kite" all the time.
- He's good about giving compliments. He'll tell me that my hair is beautiful. Or that he likes Addie's dress. Sometimes he'll tell me, "You're a good mama."
- JD will ask him, "Who's your Daddy?" And he'll say, "Jimmy!"
- He loves to make wild animal noises. A lot of this boy's time is spent being a tiger or bear. Or perhaps the big bad wolf or a monster of some sort.
- When we leave his room at night, he sweetly and quietly says, "I love you Daddy." or "I love you Mama."
