A few years ago I figured out that my friend Suzanne makes the best frosted sugar cookies E-V-E-R! After my first bite, I knew I had to squeeze the recipe out of her. It wasn't hard ~ she's sweet like that.
So while we lived in Canada I made them a time or two, but mostly I just hoped for Suz to show up with some. She knew my {everyone's} obsession with these cookies and was always happy to provide. What a good friend.
But alas, I now live over a thousand miles from her {yet again}. So it's been up to me to satisfy my cravings. I'm pretty sure I've baked at least 5 if not 6 batches of these babies in the past year. Birthdays. Cookie Exchanges. Valentine's Day. The truth is I really don't need a holiday or occasion ~ any day is a good day for sugar & buttercream frosting.
Last weekend I baked some heart-shaped cookies for a party we hosted at the house. There were a few left over, but over the next day or so they mysteriously disappeared. My munchkins identified me as the guilty party. {They think they know me so well.} I pled the Fifth.
Suzanne was in a festive mood this last week as well; she made Valentine's Day cookies that look super amazing! And she's going to try to post her sugar cookie recipe on her blog before long ~ yay for sugar cookie lovers everywhere!
